ENS Training

We are proud to say that we provide Early Neurological Stimulation, or ENS, training for our puppies!

The Benefits of Early Neurological Stimulation for Puppies

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is a series of gentle, carefully timed exercises designed to mildly stress a puppy during its critical early developmental period—typically between days 3 and 16 after birth. This short window is when a puppy's brain and nervous system are rapidly developing, and mild, controlled stimulation can have a lifelong positive impact.

The benefits of ENS are well-documented and can include:

  • Improved Stress Tolerance: Puppies exposed to ENS tend to handle stress better as adults. They are often more adaptable to new situations and environments, which is especially beneficial for working dogs or family pets who will encounter many different stimuli.

  • Stronger Heart and Immune Systems: Studies have shown that ENS can lead to improved cardiovascular performance, including stronger heartbeats, and enhanced resistance to disease, thanks to a more responsive immune system.

  • Better Brain Development: Early stimulation can lead to increased neurological capacity, helping puppies learn faster and retain training better as they grow.

  • Greater Confidence: ENS can help prevent fear-based behaviors and improve a puppy's confidence, making them more curious and comfortable around new people, animals, and experiences.

  • Long-Term Behavior Benefits: Puppies who undergo early stimulation tend to become well-adjusted adults, often showing fewer behavioral issues and stronger bonds with humans.

ENS is not about overwhelming or over-handling a puppy—it's about introducing brief, gentle exercises that provide lifelong benefits. When done properly, ENS gives puppies a head start on becoming healthier, happier, and more resilient dogs.
